HabiStat Tortoise Blend has been specially developed for Mediterranean and other arid species of tortoise, helping to recreate the natural, broken and compacted earth they encounter in the wild. 

Professionally blended using premium, all-natural ingredients, this substrate compacts under pressure while remaining loose across the surface. This combination creates ideal terrain for safe digging, natural foraging behaviours, and effective thermoregulation. 

Designed to provide a realistic and supportive environment, HabiStat Tortoise Blend helps encourage activity and promotes natural, instinctive behaviours while maintaining appropriate environmental conditions within the enclosure. 

Our substrates come fully hydrated and ready to use. Compact the bottom layer before adding a top layer to help maintain burrows and trap essential humidity in the lower levels. As the top layer dries, it will trap in vital humidity throughout the bottom layers.
