Looking for something exciting, educational and a little bit different?

Our in-store animal encounter sessions give children and families the chance to meet some amazing reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates in a safe, calm and supervised environment at World of Exotics in Bromborough.

These sessions are designed to be fun, interactive and educational, giving attendees the chance to learn about incredible animals, ask questions and enjoy carefully supervised animal encounters with our experienced team.

Whether your child is already animal-mad or just starting to show an interest in reptiles and exotic animals, our sessions are a great way to build confidence, learn something new and
create a memorable experience.

Group Encounter Sessions

Our group encounter sessions are advertised in age ranges so that children attend with others of a similar age and get the best possible experience.

This helps us make each session suitable for the group, whether that means a gentler introduction for younger children or a more detailed, discussion-based session for older children and teenagers.

Available age groups:

Ages 5–10
A fun, friendly introduction to reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, with plenty of opportunities to learn, ask questions and meet selected animals.

Ages 11–15
A slightly more in-depth session for older children and teenagers, with more detailed animal facts, care discussions and natural history learning.

Under 5s
Younger children may still be able to take part, but we ask that you contact us first so we can advise on the most suitable session option.

Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and is designed to be enjoyable, educational and confidence-building.

Why Choose World of Exotics?

At World of Exotics, we're passionate about creating unforgettable animal encounters that are fun, educational and inspiring. Every session is designed with animal welfare, safety and hands-on learning at its heart, giving visitors an experience they'll remember long after they leave.

Are the sessions only for children aged 5–10?

No. We advertise sessions in age groups to make sure children attend with others of a similar age and get the best experience. Our main group sessions are split into 5–10 years and 11–15 years.

Can under 5s attend?

Children under 5 may be able to take part, but we ask that you contact us first so we can advise on the most suitable option. A private session may be more suitable for younger children.

Do you offer sessions for teenagers?

Yes. We offer sessions for ages 11–15, which are better suited to older children and teenagers. These sessions can include more detailed animal facts, discussion and learning.

Where do the sessions take place?

These sessions take place at your location. We bring the animals and deliver the encounter session at your venue.

What age groups are the sessions suitable for?

Sessions can be adapted for different age groups. Please let us know the age range of your group when enquiring so we can tailor the session appropriately.

Can you do sessions for mixed age groups?

Yes. We can adapt sessions for mixed age groups, although larger groups or very wide age ranges may benefit from splitting into smaller sessions.

Will children get to hold the animals?

There may be opportunities for supervised touching or handling where appropriate. This depends on the animal, the environment, the group and the welfare of the animal on the day.

What animals will you bring?

The animals used may vary depending on availability, suitability and welfare. Sessions may include reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

How long does the session last?

Group sessions last approximately 45 minutes. Private sessions start from 30 minutes.

Do you offer private sessions?

Yes. Private encounter sessions are available for children, families and small groups, starting from £25 for 30 minutes.

Will my child get to hold the animals?

Attendees may have the opportunity to touch or handle selected animals where appropriate. This depends on the species, the confidence of the participant and the welfare of the animal on the day.

Are the sessions safe?

Yes. All sessions are supervised by experienced staff, and attendees are guided on how to behave safely and calmly around the animals.

Do you offer SEND-friendly sessions?

Yes. We offer reduced-capacity SEND-friendly sessions outside normal shop hours to help create a calmer and more

These sessions run outside normal shop opening hours and have a reduced capacity of up to 5 children, helping create a more relaxed experience with fewer distractions.

SEND-friendly sessions are ideal for children who may find busier environments overwhelming but would still love the chance to enjoy a carefully managed animal encounter.

Can you tell me about animal welfare and safety?

Animal welfare is at the centre of every encounter we provide.

All animals used in our sessions are carefully selected based on their suitability, temperament and welfare on the day. Some animals may be suitable for handling, while others may be display-only.

Our team will guide all attendees on how to interact with the animals safely, calmly and respectfully. We want every session to be enjoyable for both the people attending and the animals involved.

All handling is supervised by experienced staff, and hygiene guidance is provided before and after animal contact.
